Welcome to Raising Brilliant Black Boys, a movement rooted in love, education, and advocacy. We are a 501c3, nonprofit organization committed to disrupting the school-to-prison pipeline, narrowing the literacy gap, and empowering Black boys to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We believe that brilliance is already within our boys—our mission is to nurture it, amplify it, and remove the barriers that seek to dim their light.
While our primary focus is on uplifting Black boys, we firmly believe in equity, inclusion, and the power of education to transform lives across all communities. We welcome and support all families, advocates, and allies who share our vision of a future where every child, regardless of race, is empowered to succeed. We believe in the potential of every child, and our commitment to diversity ensures that every voice is valued and every brilliant mind has the opportunity to shine.

Literacy Initiatives
From read-alouds to affirmation tools and book donations, we create joyful reading experiences that boost confidence and reading comprehension.
Parent & Educator Workshops
We offer training and resources that equip adults to better support Black boys in and out of the classroom.
Mentorship & Life Skills
We connect boys with mentors who reflect their brilliance and help shape their futures through goal-setting and guidance.
Advocacy & Community Engagement
We show up at school board meetings, lead parent circles, and speak up for the systemic change our children deserve.
OUR WHY
Too often, Black boys are negatively labeled, overlooked, or pushed out before they’re given the chance to shine. Raising Brilliant Black Boys exists to change that. We celebrate the genius, creativity, and leadership potential of Black boys—and we partner with parents and educators to ensure they are seen, heard, and supported every step of the way.
